Final GDD

Hey guys,

Sorry for the late update didn't realise that I never published this blog. I had a bit of issues writing the dundoc GDD as it kept freezing or crashing so I ended up deleting it today and remaking it.

Anyways here's the link to my Final GDD.

  1. Hey Leah,
You're the same as me with the late submission but as I always say better late than never!!!!! At least it's all sorted now and up for yourself. I read your GDD and I must say I'm not a gamer or anything like that but I would play your game!!! I wish you all the best in the making of your game !!!

  2. Hey Leah, just read your GDD and I feel I have a really good understanding of what your game will be like. It is clear you've put a lot of thought into the story of this game which I find inspiring. I love games that have a rooted narrative that everything in the games plays off. I like how the game will follow the player in their attempts to be the hero and save their home. I think the introduction of the treasure chests will bring a different dynamic to the game which I think the player will enjoy. There are so many well thought out different components to this game which I find impressive. The rules and instructions are clear. I think the player having two view points will be really of benefit to the player during gameplay. It will make gameplay a lot easier for them. Can't wait to see the final game. Best of luck with it!!

  3. Hey Leah! Good job on still finishing the GDD even though it kept crashing and freezing on you.
It was really nice reading your DunDoc, it felt like I was reading an introduction to a book, which makes it even better in my eyes. It shows that you put a lot of thought into it.
I wonder though, the main character is a mixed race guy working at a tavern, yet he is going out to save the world... Will he learn everything along the way? Or does he already have some knowledge of fighting, surviving and so on?
Also, I really like the idea of the treasure chests. It such clever little thing, but changes the game and makes it more interesting.
    Good luck prototyping!

  4. Hi Leah!
I enjoyed reading your GDD and I really like the idea of your game. You have good description about the story of the game and what players can expect. As this will be a role playing game, will you be able to make choices in tasks that affects the story or does it only depend if you succeed or fail these tasks? When solving the puzzles in the treasure chest, will they start off easy and get more difficult later in the game? The rules of the game are clear and easy to understand. Your characters are well thought out and you know what each of their roles are. The player views are good as third person will be good to see the area around the player while first will be good to focus on enemies. I'm looking forward to seeing your final game and good luck making it.
